- Traction control on equipotential curves with constant power for Diesel Electric Locomotives
The traction control on equipotential curves, allows the correct management of the torque, in an electric traction system. The main advantages are the absence of skidding phenomena, progressive and constant acceleration without jerks, less energy dispersion and engine heating, and maximum acceleration in function of the adherent weight.
The same software used for the traction control system of the diesel-electric locomotives can be applied advantageously to monorail cars that are nowadays using the latest generation reluctance motors.
- Single-directional circulation system for Monorail vehicles
Continuous circulation in carousel of the vehicles insteadof alternating circulation with turn out at the end of the line. The innovative circulation system offers the following benefits:
- There is no turn outsection at the head station, consequently less cost and complexity of the monorail infrastructure and of the train operations-
- It is not necessary to unload the passengers to change line and then to upload the passengers. This results in a saving of about 7 minutes for the change of direction of the trains at the head stations. As a result, the commercial speed increases as the number of passengers transported per day.
- There is no risk of blocking of the turnoutsections and consequent blocking of the train circulation.
- The length of the convoys depends only on the length of the stations and not on the length of the turnout section (which no longer exists)
- Large spaces are not required in the head stations as a result the head stations can also be located within dense urban areas without major logistical problems. Furthermore, any future extension of the monorail line will be easier and faster to implement.
- System for Virtual adherence control for Vehicles on Monorail
The innovative electro-mechanical system will allow to control and, eventually, adjust automatically, decreasing or increasing, the “adherent” weight during instantaneous events such as acceleration, brakingor overcoming of high gradient. This system allows energy savings up to 20% and, in addition, reduces the wear of tires and other rotating parts.
- Self-regulating active suspension for vehicles on Monorail.
The suspension is automatically adjusted while driving according to the weight of the vehicle and the angle of inclination of the stabilizing wheels. This electro-mechanical system will ensure greater comfort for the passengers reducing oscillations of the cars. More important the system avoids the dangerous risk of resonance of the suspensions, especially when driving at high speed or during emergency brakin
- Active and progressive roll control, for Monorail vehicle
This electromechanical system allows to reduce the angular displacement of the cars between them, especially when negotiating tightly radius curves and “S” curves. This system has the benefit to drive at the maximum allowed speed of the line and to compensate the accelerations on the passengers and on the monorail infrastructure. The advantages are quite important: greater comfort of the passengers, higher average travel speed and less stress on the car body and the bogie structures.
- Automatic coupler for quick composition of one-way trains
Automatic retractable coupler with electronically controlled stiffness, designed to allow fast coupling of the cars over the monorail line infrastructure, in particular in tightly radius curves and “S” curves.
